Mani the Polar Bear Makes a Roar at Futurallia
Press release

Poitiers, France - Mani the Polar Bear, Centrallia’s new mascot, made its first appearance ever in Poitiers, France, where over 600 companies from all over the world gathered from April 28-30, for the 15th edition of Futurallia, a global business to business forum for small and medium-sized companies seeking new trade and investment opportunities internationally.
People rushed to have their picture taken with Mani, the cuddly polar bear. Centrallia organizers are now banking on them rushing to the Centrallia website (www.centrallia.com) to add their names to the long list of companies that will be taking care of business in Winnipeg in October 2010.
Centrallia 2010 will be held in Winnipeg from October 20-22. It’s the most important international business forum ever held in Winnipeg. Its organizers were at Futurallia to learn from it as well as to attract participants to their own event. “We signed up new delegation leaders as well as participants for our event. There is a lot of enthusiasm in Europe for Centrallia 2010!” says coordinator, Derek Earl.
ANIM, Manitoba’s Bilingual Trade Agency, lead a local delegation of companies such as Westeel, the Diamond Gallery, Project Whitecard as well as the Canadian Exports and Manufacturers Association and CentrePort Canada. Their goal: to drum up business and establish alliances with international market leaders. “Mission accomplished,” says Jack Peterson of Cogmation Robotics.
His company develops robotic software. Futurallia provided many benefits, including market intelligence in European speciality manufacturing. This could become a new niche for his company. “These meetings were very good and are already leading to new business opportunities for us.”
First-time participant, Mathieu Manaigre from Avenir IT, is excited about the businesses he met. “It was awesome. I have a lot of follow-ups to do,” says the owner of the IT support and web- development company from Winnipeg. “Futurallia surpassed all of my expectations. I can’t wait for Centrallia, right at home.”
